Legacy Stories

Our newest initiative is our legacy stories project. Before my grandmother passed away from ovarian cancer, we spent time with her in her final months of life. In that time we were challenged with the question, “What do you say to someone who is dying?” So, we decided to ask her about her life. We did this over multiple weeks. After a few weeks of talking with her and collecting her stories, she said, “I never thought I would share these stories with anyone. I thought I had a pretty bad life at times, but I realize now that I had a really good life.” In the telling and re-telling of her story, the villains in her life lost power and the heroes rose to the top. Its our mission to provide families an opportunity to embrace the end of life with a sense of dignity and love.
